Appointments

Face Masks

When attending the surgery for an appointment, please wear a face mask or suitable alternative face-covering.

If you feel that you are medically unable to wear a face mask, please let us know so that we can make arrangements to minimise risk to our staff and patients.

Appointments System

You can make an appointment with the doctor by phoning the surgery between 09:00 - 10:00 on the day you wish to be seen.  You can, however, still book advance appointments, subject to availability up to one month in advance for a GP or three months in advance for a nurse.

You have a right to express a preference of practitioner and we will do our best to give you an appointment with the doctor of your choice. Should your preferred doctor not have a free appointment you will be offered an appointment with one of the other GPs in the practice.

You will never be refused to see a doctor if one is available. If you no longer need your appointment please let us know.

Please remember that appointments are for ONE person only. If you feel your consultation may be lengthy, please advise reception when you book.

Extended Hours: please book evening/ weekend appointments with the Hub at the reception. Full details of the local extended access services can be found below.

Home Visits

If the patient is too ill to come to the surgery please telephone before 10.30 if possible, so that the urgency of the call can be assessed and appropriate advice given.

Visits should only be requested for old, infirm and housebound patients who could not be transported to the surgery. Lack of transport is not a valid reason for a home visit.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.

Extended Access

Can’t find the time to see a GP or nurse during normal surgery hours? Why not visit the Thurrock Health Hubs.

The Thurrock Health hubs offer GP and nurse appointments every weekday evening and Saturday and Sunday mornings. There are five Health Hubs in total– Corringham, Tilbury, South Ockendon, Purfleet and Grays – each with a single GP and other health professionals, including practice nurses.

All patients registered with a GP practice in Thurrock can make use of the service, and you can attend any of the hubs. All you need to do is contact your GP practice and specify the hub where you would like to book your appointment.

The Hubs in Grays, Tilbury and Corringham are open seven days a week; the hubs in South Ockendon and Purfleet alternate, but together provide a seven day service. You must book an appointment to attend, there is no drop-in service. For a full breakdown of times, please see the timetable below:
