Antenatal

Antenatal and post natal care is often shared by the GP and midwife. In the first instance you should self refer to maternity direct at Basildon Hospital, Tel: 01268 394660 or email maternity@btuh.nhs.uk

Minor Surgery

Minor surgical procedures are performed in the surgery at doctor's discretion. This entails aspiration of cysts and injection of joints and ligaments.

Practice Nurses

Our nurses are fully qualified to carry out

  • Health promotion e.g. general health check
  • Blood Pressure check
  • Immunisation both routine and for travel purposes
  • Cervical smears
  • Dressings and suture removal
  • Ear syringing
  • Conducting asthma, COPD, diabetic, hypertension and well person clinics, advice on contraception and family planning

District Nurses

Community nurses are available to see you if you are housebound in your home for the following:

  • dressings
  • removal of sutures
  • infection advice
  • care of chronically sick and terminally ill patients.

Access is also available to the Health Visitor, Community Psychiatric nurse, Macmillan nurse, Counsellor and Dietician.

We actively engage in Health promotion and disease prevention. Primary prevention and advice on smoking, diet, exercise, chronic illness.  Secondary prevention of heart disease and strokes Screening: Blood pressure, Cholesterol, Cervical smears etc.
